Kelly Yi, Ph.D., Psychological Assistant

Kelly was born in S. Korea and raised in the United States. He studied comparative religion and psychology at UC Santa Barbara for his BA. He received his MA in Counseling Psychology in 2003 from The Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. He completed his PhD in 2008 researching long-term mindfulness training and well-being.

His therapeutic influences include: Jungian, Narrative, Poetry Therapy, Psychodrama, Developmental/Psychodynamic, Eastern psychologies, and mindfulness-based therapies. His areas of clinical interest and training include: Asian and Korean Americans, ethnic minority psychology, addictions, depression, anxiety, life meaning and purpose, neurodevelopmental disorders, religious/spiritual issues, and contemplative psychology. Kelly has worked with individuals, couples, roommates, families, and groups at numerous bay area agencies. He has worked with youth, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Kelly also can communicate in basic Korean and is fluent in English.
